To find the pump I just used Google Shopping, sorted by price and chose a good price from a seller with a decent reputation/reviews. 0 Comments New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). More of a hassle getting into the loft than anything. I stuck the F3 and F1 in via the header tank in the end, I couldn't find an injector to fit our tiny tiny radiator bleed valves (the tiny 'shoulder' ones smaller than 1/8th that always snap!) - only took 5 mins each time. I ran the F3 cleaner with the old pump in place as I didn't want to risk damaging the new pump with any junk dislodged.
CP53 CIRCULATING PUMP MANUAL MANUAL
on a 3 speed manual Circulator which is why we call it semi-automatic. Grundfos works really well, straight swap for the old pump.īefore swapping it out I drained the system, refilled and added some Fernox F3, ran it around for a few days, drained, refilled and drained the system again to flush it out a bit. A direct replacement for the most common domestic pump currently fitted in UK. CP53, CP61 and CP63 of MYSON EASY ASSEMBLY Saving of time, no body dismantling. The system as a whole is about 12 years old.Īny help would be most appreciated . The CIRCULATING MOTOR PUMP can replace all motor pumps with entraxe 130. Does anyone know if the Grundfos UPS2 head will fit if I replace the old Myson pump I'd prefer to do it this way than disturb any of the pipework by trying to remove the whole unit.

The wife is going mad about the hot water and it'll be a week until my plumber can come round. The problems have started since the boiler was moved and a few extra rads were added as part of an extension a year ago. I have an old (20yr) Myson compact CP53 CH pump that has finally failed. Incidentally it's a fairly standard vented system with tanked hot water and all but 2 rads have TRVs fitted. I am trying to work out the circumstances when it happens but as it is intermittent this is proving difficult so far.Īny ideas about any of this or suggestions for things I should check? Unfortunately it is still happening with the new pump. I thought this was being caused by it overheating due to problems with the flow rate, i.e. What made this worse was that some of the water appeared to have missed the tank and sprayed around the loft!!! The expansion pipe hangs loosely through a hole in the lid, but I guess it must have moved when the water came through - is that likely? If so I guess that should be relatively easy to fix by adjusting the pipe (The area round the tanks has been wet before and I never found any leaks so I suspect this has happened before!)Īnyway, I know it is normal for some water to vent back into the tank, but how much is normal - this seemed like quite a lot! Would changing the pump speed cause this or was that likely to be just a coincidence? (Needless to say I set the pump back to 2 for now!)Īlso, on a separate issue there is occassionally a loud noise from the boiler which I can only describe as being like dragging a metal bar along some railings! It lasts for a few seconds but can be loud enough to wake you. There were then a few noises from the system followed by the sound of running water for maybe a minute or so - which turned out to be water coming out of the expansion pipe into the c/h header tank in the loft.

I set the new 3 speed pump to 2 and it ran ok for a day or so, however it sounded like the water was rushing round the system quite fast so I tried reducing it to 1.Īll seemed ok, until the heating went off a few mins later. The pump itself is much quieter, so I'm happy that it needed replacing, however it does not appear to have solved all my problems .

It can be used as a replacement for most other pumps, including the Mylo and Grundfos pumps. This circulator pump is designed to be used in domestic central heating systems. Well I replaced the pump at the weekend - though getting the old one off was a pain as I couldn't undo the nuts!!! Central Heating Circulation Pump quantity.
